NACA Aerofoil Section Examples
|
This page shows examples of NACA two dimensional aerofoil sections. The input code for the NACA aerofoil generation program is shown for various families of sections; 4-digit, 5-digit, 6-series and 6A-series families of sections. Click here to go to the NACA aerofoil generator Click here to run a 2D Panel Method analysis of an aerofoil. The format required for the analysis programs can be seen by clicking on the aerofoil images or using "right click" to save a link to the coordinates to a ".txt" data file. | ||

Note: Coordinate file format was updated in 2025. It no longer runs along the surface from trailing to leading edge then back to trailing edge.
Coordinates are now given for both upper and lower surface starting from the leading edge.
Eg.
Section : xxxxxx (numbers,letters only,no spaces)
Number of Data Points = N (total surface points, leading edge counted only once)
Span = 2D (2D or wing span in meters)

0 0 0 0
0.0027 0.009 0.0027 -0.009
0.0109 0.017 0.0109 -0.017
... ... ... ...
1.0000 0.001 1.0000 -0.001
Coordinate values are in meters.
